Fresh rosemary can be easily found in the shops and can be used to add to your dish or make an awesome cup of tea. However, if you want to make a rosemary recipe at any time during the year, you have to use frozen or dried rosemary instead.
To use the dried rosemary in your recipe you will have to first soften it so they taste similar to a fresh one. So, in this article, I am going to show you the steps that you need to follow to rehydrate dried rosemary.
Measure the quantity of dried rosemary you will need for your recipe. You can use a measuring cup to place the dried rosemary into a glass bowl.
Pour boiling water into the cup of dried rosemary until they are fully covered.
Make sure to cover your rosemary with a visible level of water above them. This will ensure that rosemary absorbs the water well and it becomes very soft.
Place a lid on top of the glass bowl to maintain the temperature.
Note: You can also use a flavored liquid in place of water to add some extra punch to the taste.
Allow the rosemary to soak for a few hours so they can rehydrate themselves. When they are softened they will plump but the time it takes to rehydrate depends on how old are they.
Drain the rosemary from their soaking water using a strainer. Discard the water and place them back in the bowl.
They are now ready to be used in your recipe. I generally prefer to add rehydrated rosemary to my tea but you can use them on any recipe of your choice.

Using dried rosemary in soup:
Rosemary is a delicious herb that can be used to flavor soups, stews, and vegetables. Rosemary can also be used during the cooking process for the soup or stew. You can follow the below steps to use it in your soup.
1) Cut the leaves from the stem and brush off the hard parts on top of the leaves to remove debris. Also, when cutting fresh rosemary for soup, the best way to do it is to cut it in half lengthwise. This will reveal the stem, which you can then break off from the leaves.
2) Spread out on paper towels or a clean cloth and allow to dry thoroughly for several hours before adding it into your recipe.
3) Add it into your soup while cooking, preferably when you add liquids like stock or broth so that it will infuse easily with those liquids and not burn.
4) Use as is, but make sure to cook all of it before using some portion of your soup as this will help break down any crystallization that might occur from the recipe
5) Pour soup into a sieve over bowl or pitcher and serve
